Referrals

You do not need a referral from your General Practitioner to book an appointment, however you may choose to discuss the option of obtaining a treatment plan from your GP or Paediatrician. A treatment plan will allow you to  claim back a portion of the fee from Medicare. You will need to discuss whether the young person is eligible for a mental health treatment plan with your doctor.

Rebates

Under the Medicare Better Access scheme you you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $93.35 per session for 10 sessions per calendar year if you are referred by your GP or Paediatrician under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.  There may also be other Medicare rebates available such as Chronic Disease Management Plans, or Helping Out With Autism (HOWA). Please talk to your doctor for more information.

Initial Appointment

The initial appointment will include a comprehensive assessment of developmental history and current needs and concerns.  Generally, it is asked that this session is attended by parents/caregivers only. From there, the sessions will involve one on one therapy with the young person with parent/caregiver involvement as required.  An individualsied treatment plan will be established depending on the presentation, goals and specific needs of the client.

It is important that you arrive on time for your appointment as each appointment is allocated a one hour timeslot only and cannot be extended to factor in a late arrival due to back to back bookings.

Appointments are available on Fridays and Saturdays, 9am-5pm. You may choose to book your session as a face to face consult or a Telehealth appointment via video link. The appointment will take between 50-60mins.
